Since 1986,
The Freese Brothers Big Band has presented dozens of scholarship awards totaling
over $44,000 to enable talented high school musicians to enhance their musical
skills. The Band has awarded scholarships to young musicians from many
communities in New Hampshire, including, Alton, Boscawen, Bow, Chichester,
Concord, Loudon, Manchester, and Pittsfield.
Our
scholarships are awarded to 9th,
10th,
and 11th grade students. Our winners return their high schools to share what they have
learned with their classmates, and to help improve their school and community
music programs. They also let us know about their experiences at the summer
programs they attended.
The
Scholarship Fund is supported by a portion of our performance fees and by tax
deductible contributions from the public. A significant portion of the
Scholarship Fund is managed by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. We
invite you to support young musicians in the area with your own contribution.
If you would like to do so, please contact the New Hampshire Charitable
Foundation at 225-6641.
Our Scholarship program is now open for 2013. If you are interested in being considered for an award to send your student to a music or voice camp this Summer, please click this link, print and complete the Application form, and return it to Louis Brissette, by May 1, 2013.
